The Ben & Jerry Flavor Graveyard

The Ben & Jerry Flavor Graveyard

Every once in a while, a Ben & Jerry ice cream flavor is discontinued, never to return again. When that happens, it goes to the Flavor Graveyard, a small plot of land behind the factory in which mourners – er, visitors – can pay homage to flavors past.

Now, because it’s in Vermont, where there is an abundance of granite, there are actual granite tombstones in the Flavor Graveyard. Each one bears the name and artwork of a flavor that is no longer produced. Here are a couple of my favorites:

The Flavor Graveyard is located behind the Ben & Jerry factory at 1281 Waterbury-Stowe Road, (Route 100), Waterbury, VT 05676. Telephone 866-258-6877. There is no charge to tour the graveyard.
