All Aboard the Hogwarts Express!

First there was the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando.  Then there was Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. And to shuttle between the two of them, you can ride the Hogwarts Express.

The train ride is made to look exactly like the train in the movies, with uniformed attendants at the platform and a window that shows you computer-generated scenery. Depending on which way you’re traveling, you might see Dementors, Buckbeak, Hagrid, Hedwig, or other characters. There are shadows and sounds outside the compartment door, too, including the snack trolley and our favorite trio of students.

Don’t miss all of the great things to see as you’re making your way to or from the platform. At one point you will be able to see other guests moving along the queue but they can’t see you. At another, you will see Hedwig waiting for Harry.

The Hogwarts Express is only accessible if you have a Park-to-Park admission ticket. It’s about $50 more for a park-to-park rather than single park admission for one day, but if you’re visiting for multiple days the price difference goes down dramatically and is very much worth it. Universal Studios Orlando & Universal’s Islands of Adventure are located at 6000 Universal Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32819. Telephone 407-363-8000.
